How the SeaPen Works
The SeaPen is a water-level dry dock – your vessel sits in a purpose-built cradle that keeps it completely out of the water between uses. No crane. No trailer. Just push a button.
01
Press ‘Down’ on your remote to open the SeaPen’s rear gate and motor in at a gentle idle.
02
The frame guides your vessel into position – it acts as a catcher, making solo docking effortless.
03
Press ‘Up’ to close the gate. The automatic bilge pump drains the water and keeps your hull bone dry.
04
Patented rope mat technology creates an air gap around your hull, allowing complete drainage and ventilation.
Why the SeaPen
The SeaPen delivers all the benefits of traditional dry docking without the complexity, cost, or footprint of a conventional boat lift.
Dry-docking eliminates marine growth without toxic, expensive antifoul. Save thousands per year and stop the time-consuming strip-and-repaint cycle.
A clean, dry hull can add 3–5 knots to your vessel's speed and significantly reduce fuel consumption compared to an antifouled hull.
Boat owners with dry storage use their vessel 32 times a year vs 11 times for trailer owners. The SeaPen removes every barrier to getting out on the water.
Vessels stored in SeaPens sell for 6–8% more than comparable wet-stored boats. Buyers often purchase the vessel and SeaPen together.
The SeaPen's guided frame means you can dock without crew, without fenders, and without the stress. Perfect for solo outings.
Walk around your entire vessel on the SeaPen's HDPE frame. Wash down, fit covers, and perform maintenance from every angle with ease.

Annual Servicing Available
Like your car or boat, your SeaPen benefits from an annual preventive service to keep it performing at its best and preserve your warranty.
“The SeaPen has been my saviour, from a boating relationship perspective as well as from the sheer ease of leaving the pontoon and returning to the pontoon in a very safe manner. I am no longer required to manage ropes or fenders. I can now step onto the boat and prepare some refreshments which make for a wonderful and relaxed start to our boating experience. I love the Riv but I love the SeaPen more!”

Common Questions
Yes. When you close the SeaPen’s rear gate, the automatic bilge pump detects and removes any trapped water. The patented rope mat creates an air gap between your hull and the SeaPen skin, allowing full ventilation and drainage. Your hull will be completely dry.
The SeaPen suits almost all recreational and light commercial vessels from 6 to 20 metres with outboards, stern drives, jet drives, and V-drives – including monohulls, catamarans, tri-hulls, pontoon boats, wake and ski boats, and trailer-sailors.
The bilge pump activates every 2 hours to sense for water, pumps out anything it detects, and returns to standby. Heavy rain, wake, storm surges – your SeaPen handles them automatically.
The SeaPen doesn’t have a fixed lifespan. Its HDPE frame and skin are built for durability and, with regular annual servicing, many units have been in service for over 15 years. Individual components can be replaced as needed.
Yes. The high-density polyethylene frame supports your full body weight, giving you access to all sides of your vessel. For more stable footing, add an optional anti-slip aluminium walkway to the frame.
Yes. Most insurers can include your SeaPen in your vessel’s existing insurance policy. Your DOCKPRO consultant can advise further when you enquire.
