Dock Dry. Boat Better.

Upgrading to a floating dock like the SeaPen just makes sense.

Boat being driven into a SeaPen dry docking system

Easier

Say no to boat ramp queues and antifoul headaches.

Launch directly from your berth with one button push – the simplest way to get out on the water.

Two people swimming with fish in clear ocean water

Healthier

Antifoul is a marine-grade pesticide so toxic that the government has issued warnings about it.

Dry docking is healthier for you, your family, and the waterways you love.

Faster

Antifoul adds drag to your hull, which gets worse as it degrades.

An antifoul-free hull means you’ll perform better in the water (and save on fuel).

‘Very happy with our Dockpro Seapen.  Works extremely well and is easy to use.

Highly recommend it. Thank you to the entire Dockpro team for making the purchase decision and install process easy.

Especially Brett and Chris, you have both been outstanding and amazing to deal with.

You answered all our queries with great professionalism and bent over backwards to make the whole process seamless. Thank again!’

More of What You Bought Your Boat For

Buying a SeaPen means changing the way you boat.

No trailers or traffic.

No boat ramp queues.

No skipped outings because you don’t have a second pair of hands to help.

Peel Inlet, Harvey Estuary, the vastness of the Indian Ocean – they’re all there at the click of a button.

The average boat owner uses their vessel 11 times a year when it’s on a trailer – but 20 times a year when it’s docked on a SeaPen.

That’s an 81% increase in time on the water.

Berth With a Single Click

Sometimes, it’s just you, the tiller, and the open ocean.

And that can make docking safely hard – especially during windy Mandurah afternoons.

The SeaPen opens and closes with a single button click (just like your garage).

That means you don’t need to worry about hitching lines to cleats or going from deck to dock.

Click, let the rear gate open, drive in, and close up so the SeaPen’s proprietary rope mesh system can drain any excess water and keep your hull dry.

Better boating is that simple.

See How It Works

‘Ordered a Seapen for my new 7.5m fishing boat.

Craig quickly supplied a quote and the Seapen was installed professionally and quickly by Marty.

They were a pleasure to deal with and I am very happy with the design and operation of the Seapen.  Highly recommended!’

The SeaPen Versus Other Floating Docks

Dry Docking Equals Better Boating

Drive On, Drive Off

Forget winches and awkward manoeuvring.

Docking with the SeaPen is as easy as parking a car in your garage.

NZ SeaPen

Zero-Lift Aesthetic

Most floating docks have bulky lifts that spoil your waterfront view.

The SeaPen sits just above water level – sleek, elegant, and unobtrusive

No Point Loads

Even the best boat lifts create pressure points that can risk deforming your vessel over time.

The SeaPen’s proprietary rope mesh distributes pressure evenly across your hull (with no risk of scratching or friction).

Mandurah Floating Docks FAQs

How long does the SeaPen last?

The SeaPen doesn’t have a fixed lifespan. Both its frame and skin are built for durability, and, with regular servicing, it can support your vessel for upwards of a decade. Many of our customers’ SeaPens have been in service for over 15 years.

Any components that fail over time due to wear and tear can be individually replaced by one of our technicians. Keep in mind, though, that your SeaPen is just like your car or boat. It’s built for durability, but it still needs annual servicing to perform at its best (and preserve your warranty).

Make sure you book a maintenance service every 12 months.

Where can I dock my boat in Mandurah?

It depends on factors like your address, your budget, and your vessel’s size. For example, if you live in a waterfront property around Mandurah Estuary or Batavia Quays, you can probably moor your boat outside your home.

Alternatively, you can explore locations like Port Bouvard Marina and Mandurah Ocean Marina. The smaller Mary Street Lagoon is also a great option, with all 3 boat pens offering easy access to both the Indian Ocean and Peel Inlet.

What’s the difference between a floating dock and a dry dock?

A floating dock is a type of dry dock that floats on top of the water. Unlike a traditional boat lift, which is either attached to a supporting structure or affixed to freestanding posts, a floating dock can simply be hitched to cleats on your jetty. That makes it ideal if you can’t get approval from council or your marina for a permanent structure.

What are the disadvantages of floating docks?

As an alternative to antifouling, the only disadvantage of a floating dock is its upfront cost. Some Mandurah boat owners view annual antifouling as a more manageable expense – even though a SeaPen becomes more cost-effective after around 5 years of ownership.

In every other way, though, dry docking is the better choice.

  • It’s easier. You don’t need to haul out your boat for annual stripping and painting.
  • It’s better for your and your family’s health. Various studies have shown that, even once dry, antifoul leaches into the surrounding water, affecting non-target species (like humans swimming).
  • It preserves your boat’s health. Antifoul adds a ~2% powering penalty upon application, which increases to more than 10% as it slowly wears off. Antifoul also can’t prevent biofouling of non-coated surfaces or damage from rubbing/bumping in your slip (which a dry dock does).

Can I walk all the way around a SeaPen?

Yes, you can walk on all sides of a SeaPen. You can even add an anti-slip aluminium walkway to its polyethylene frame – ideal for doing maintenance work on your vessel.

What happens to a floating dock if there’s a storm?

Nothing. As long as your SeaPen has power, its bilge pump will keep running, removing water from around your boat’s hull. If it does lose power, the back gate will remain shut by default, but can be manually opened if you need to access your vessel. And, because your SeaPen floats, you generally don’t need to worry about your boat being washed off by rising water levels.

(Note: strong winds and large waves can still damage your vessel, in the same way that they would if it was sitting in the water. Even the best floating docks aren’t a defence against extreme weather.)
